Growing up the son of an Americana-Folk musician Eric’s earliest memories were of all night jam sessions and hippies trading vans for guitars in his rural Minnesota lake home. Music was always around and by age 12 Eric was part of that scene playing guitar in his father’s band. “It really changes your perspective on life when your friends are home watching cartoons and you’re getting ready to go play the bars & clubs for the weekend” he jokes.
By the age of 15 Eric was totally consumed by music and took off down his own musical path starting a rock band playing songs by all his early idols. The Doors, Stones, Zeppelin, Beatles and CCR. He was also captivated by classical guitar and begin his study in to that during those years.
After two decades of playing in bands, Eric decided to “Strip in on back” and return to what he fell in love with in the beginning. A guitar, a microphone and a stage... “There’s a certain intimacy and connection with your audience you can reach up on that stage with just you and your guitar that can’t be duplicated as a whole band, it’s beautiful” he says. But don’t let that fool you, this ain’t no sit around the fire singing “kumbaya” show. This is a highly entertaining personal experience with a great entertainer who will take you with him on a very eclectic musical journey playing all of your favorites from the 60’s to present day with the perfect blend of raw energy and stage presence leaving you always wanting more!
Eric has taken this show and opened up for some of the biggest names in the music business today. Soul Asylum, Great White, John Michael Montgomery, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Cole Swindell, Puddle of Mudd, Hinder, Candlebox, Kat Perkins, Everclear and the Sick Puppies
In addition to his music, Eric is the proud father of two wonderful boys and is an avid outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking, biking, kayaking, and skiing.
